An introduction to earthen floors and plasters
To learn how to develop your own plaster and floor recipe anywhere in the world

All organic meals including ingredients grown on site and harvested for your enjoyment.
Flat camping and hot showers.
Access to the community center for morning your personal asana/movement practice. (if there is a collective interest we will facilitate a 45 min practice)
Basic Lectures on the crucial need to knows to continue your journey in the lifelong relationship with clay for building.
An introduction and play time to experiment and familiarize your self with different materials that can be used to make lasting, healthy, and beautiful earthen decor.
Experience working with both machine and traditional human scale methods to make good earthen mixes for floors and plasters.

During weekend one we will do a detailed tour of the projects we have done here with Wanosh to teach you from our successes and failures.

We have lined up a plethora of projects that give you a chance to do every part of both Earthen Floors and Plasters with out being limited by drying times that can inhibit your experience.
You will get hands on experience and teacher insights on how to install an earthen floor, with lecture time including drainage considerations and capillary breaks, and hands on experience pouring both base floor as well as applying finish floor. Additionally we will be both oiling and applying secondary finish slip coat across different floors for you to get a full breadth of experience.
You will get hands on experience and teacher insights into all facets of base coat and finish plasters. We will be using base coats to add hight to cob benches, and compete a rocket stove project. We will be adding finish plaster coats to several projects that are ready to receive them.

A note about work-trades: We offer 75% trade and ask for 25% financial contribution. Trade days are generally the 2-3 days before a workshop, and the 2-3 days after a workshop.
