The Invite

We invite you to participate in this small gathering if you have a practice or are beginning a practice of studying ceremonial arts and traditional ways. We invite you to bring the force of your ancestors, teachers and land where you live to support each other in a deep collective healing and celebration.

Part I of the Gathering will be 2 days. On the first day , Wednesday the 4th, Chris will be offering Matare Medicine. Matare medicine is a unique visionary healing medicine yet to be classified by the west. It was brought back by a village son who went into the jungle solo for four years and returned to the village with the medicine and his guardian lion. Chris recommends having a scribe to write down what comes through you as time with the medicine is common for partakers to have valuable guidance and insight about life path in their sit. Chris is recognized by the royal ancestral court of Zimbabwe as a reincarnated spirit and is the only person outside of Zimbabwe to carry this profound medicine. Chris will bridge this ancient medicine with us here and now creating a musical pathway to our greater selves and spirit realms for healing. The second day (Thursday) of Part 1 will be a day of reflection and quiet time to journal we will be pouring a late morning/early afternoon Gong Fu Pu’er Tea Ceremony.

PO

Part II of the gathering is Friday Through Sunday, The 6th, 7th and 8th. Friday the 6th, will be the first day of song and rhythm workshops. The intention of these workshops is to be better prepared to participate in Saturday night’s Huachuma Ceremony. We invite you, tradition carriers, to bring songs and rhythms that you want to strengthen with the community and give a stronger backbone to the ceremonial space we create together. Friday night we will hold a Music and Story Telling Council where you will have the opportunity to share the gifts you carry with the community. The council feather can be held by you alone, or by you and your compañeros. This night will be held in Temple Center and accompanied by a fire in the garden.

Saturday, the 7th, will start out with a final Song and Rhythm workshop and then transition after brunch into the Ceremonial Space by building a communal alter to guide and protect our space together. After the pouring of the Hauchuma sacrament (see more below) as the sun shifts from the golden hour into the the dark of the night we will assemble for a candle lantern lit musical procession into the forest healing grounds where we will start a sacred fire with friction to honor and reawaken the first people way. This will deepen our journey awakening the ancestral memories. The Sacred fire will be an all night vigil to sing and pray together. A few hundred feet away the Alter in the part of the forest we lovingly refer to as the grief grove, will be open to lay griefs down with a stone while a ceremonial celebration is held at the sacred fire.

Sunday, the 8th, there will be time to reflect and integrate together through food, reflections, stories, camaraderie, and closing songs.

What is Huachuma Medicine?

Huachuma is South Americas most Sacred Cactus Medicine.

Hauchuma opens our hearts and invites us into deep remembering of who we are and our relationship to Mother Earth. Working with master teacher Hauchuma is a way to align the heart, health, and hands through the mind, body, spirit connection.

We go to Grandpa Hauchuma to pray, connect deeper with place, invoke spiritual insight, and heal on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels.

We prayerfully grow, prepare, and serve this medicine as a sacrement and offering of support in becoming the best possible version of yourself.
